The father of a woman accused of murdering her husband is back at the jail in Selmer, hoping to take his daughter to live with friends until her trial.
The release of Mary Winkler on $750,000 bond appears imminent from the McNairy County Jail. Her father, Clark Freeman of Knoxville, is waiting for her.
Winkler has been indicted on a first-degree murder charge in the March shotgun slaying of her husband, Matthew Winkler, at the parsonage where they lived. He was 31. Mary Winkler is 32.
Defense attorney Steve Farese of Memphis is also at the jail, awaiting his client's release.
Winkler's trial is scheduled to begin October 30.
