OLYMPIA, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky State Police say two sisters died and their parents and siblings were injured in an early morning house fire in eastern Kentucky.

State Police Detective Toby Gardner identified the sisters as 13-year-old Kayla Withrow and 12-year-old Lucy Withrow. Gardner says the children were found Wednesday in the basement of a two-story house in the rural community of Olympia in Bath County.

The girls' parents, 56-year-old Virgil Withrow and 57-year-old Mary Etta Withrow, were at the University of Kentucky hospital. Gardner said Virgil Withrow was in stable condition and Mary Etta Withrow was in critical condition.

Two other siblings, a 15-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, were hurt in the fire. Gardner declined to give their names, but said the girl was in critical condition at the University of Kentucky hospital and the boy had been treated and released from a Mount Sterling hospital.
