A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Friday evening from 5-6 at the St. Jude Dream Home in Bowling Green.

This will kick-off the open houses that will be held at the St. Jude Dream Home every weekend until the official drawing for the house on October 1st.

Tickets are still available for the Dream Home for $100.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was first opened in 1962. Since then they've treated over 30,000 patients.

"The most common form of childhood cancer is Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and the cure rate for that was only four percent. Only four out of 100 children survived in 1962, and since St. Jude has been open and doing its research, over 90% of them survive today", says Senior Event Marketing Representative for St. Jude, Julie Torzewski.

Torzewski says an event such as the St. jude Dream Home Giveaway is just one way the community can raise money for the hospital and for the children.

By purchasing a $100 dollar ticket you are actually supporting finding a cure for the many children that pass through St. Jude's doors.

"All the money is going to the children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the research we do there, and the research is
shared all across the country and across the world", says Torzewski.

This is the second year for the Dream Home Giveaway and so far nearly 2,500 tickets have been sold. With over 6,000 tickets purchased last year Torzewski has faith this year will be another successful year for St. Jude.

"We've heard that Bowling Green over the years is such a huge supporter of St. Jude. They always give money for the research and so this is the best way we want to give back to you", says Torzewski.

In addition to buying a ticket to win the Dream Home, you can also register to win a $5,000 shopping spree from Thornton Furniture while visiting the Dream Home.

In addition to winning the home, you could win:
