A well-known Bowling Green businessman will begin to serve his sentence in prison.
WBKO has learned that Jim Scott, the founder and chairman for "Scotty's Contracting and Stone" turned himself into authorities today to begin his year long sentence.
Scott is in transit to the federal correctional institution in Manchester, Kentucky.
The facility is located in Clay County, approximately 75 miles south of Lexington.
Scott was convicted in July of tax fraud and sentenced to 12 months and one day in the federal penitentiary.
Scott's sentence was just three months shy of the 15-month federal guideline for the crime.
Last March, Scott pleaded guilty to deducting more than 900-thousand dollars as business expenses that he used to build a new home.
