Bowling Green Firefighters are helping make Christmas a little brighter for some area children.

Around 53 kids were chosen by Community Action of Southern Kentucky and the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs.

These children were given the chance to shop at Target with a firefighter, and spend around 150-dollars on clothing and toys.

"This is Uriah," said David McCarty, Captain of the Bowling Green Fire Department. "He's a big Spiderman, Batman, Superman fan. He actually got some Spiderman toys, and he got some clothes that he needed. He had a great time."

The local firefighters say they want to thank everyone who donated both time and money to make this event possible.
