An Ohio County woman charged with murder after a deadly hit and run is now being charged with manslaughter.
The preliminary hearing for 40-year-old Karen Wright was held Monday, December 22, 2008 in District Court.
Officials say, Wright hit 71-year-old Charles Asburry of Beaver Dam, December 4, 2008.
The incident happened on Highway 62 East in Ohio County when Wright hit and killed Asburry and didn't call emergency officials.
An anonymous call to the Sheriff's Department led detectives to Wight, where she then confessed.
Wright's murder charge was amended to manslaughter today.
She's also charged with tampering with physical evidence and failure to maintain insurance.
Her case has now been bound over to the Grand Jury.
