The shots rang out sometime during the first half of the game at L.T. Smith Stadium Saturday night. The officer says they came from the area of the "Egypt" parking lot on Western's campus. He tried to pursue a black, late-model, four-door sedan that ran a stop sign after the shots were fired, but he says the car and the three black males inside got away.
Another witness told police he saw a black male with a handgun tucked in his pants leave as a fight broke out in the stands during the game. No injuries were reported, but the rear window of a car in the "Egypt" lot was shattered.
Police say the driver of the getaway car matches the description of the black male seen with a handgun at the game.
