The Department of Transportation says in order for them to mow, some signs will need to be removed.
Public Information Officer Keirsten Jaggers cites safety as the reason why. She says they don't want to run over the signs and damage the mowers or send debris in the path of a motorist.
Any signs that create a sight-distance problem near a blind spot may also be pulled.
Lastly, if your sign is placed in a right-of-way it is difficult for mowers to do their job. Each road’s right-of-way is different as some are in a residential area and others are country roads.
She asks you to call her cell phone with questions or to retrieve your sign from your county maintenance garage.
