A Shelbyville minister has been arrested and charged with sex crimes with a minor.

Forty seven-year-old James H. Bell, a minister at the Refuge Temple Church of God in Christ, confessed to some of the crimes.

According to the Sentinel News in Shelbyville, Bell was arrested and charged with sodomy, sex abuse, and wanton endangerment, stemming from several sexual contacts with a minor in Shelby county.

Bell faces additional charges if charged with crimes he says he also committed in Logan county.

Bell was lodged at the Shelby County Detention Center.

The Kentucky State Police investigation continues.
