People need to report missing and stolen dogs to their local law enforcement and animal control, so they can see a pattern of this rising concern/crime. To prevent becoming a statistic, people should never allow their pets to be at large, outside, even behind a privacy fence without adult supervision. It has only taken some thieves less than 5 minutes to steal a dog. We need to treat and supervise our pets as if they were a 3 year old child. Never leaving them out of our sight, locked in a vehicle, or allowed out without supervision. People need to micro-chip their pets, this will prevent them being stolen and sold to labs. We need to be good/aware neighbors and writing down license plate numbers. The dogmen of the world would not be disposing of skinned pets in a creek/river. Nor, a need for the number of animals being stolen from various areas of the United States. The last several years the stolen dogs drastically increases in November. If your dog gets away from you, report it NOW.
Please tell us more on this story. There has been an upswing in stolen dogs lately, in many areas, so many animal rescuers in the state are anxious for more news on this. Could it be someone hiding fighting dogs by skinning them, or just some sick person(s)? Please keep us apprised!
