A new state drug rehabilitation center is under construction.
Yesterday was the groundbreaking for Cumberland Community Hope Center in Harlan.
The nearly four-million dollar facility is the first rehab center in Eastern Kentucky.
Construction on similar facilities has already started in Henderson, Hopkinsville, and Morehead.
Governor Ernie Fletcher says the goal is for each of Kentucky's six congressional districts to have two centers that will treat all males or all females.
Harlan County's facility is expected to serve about 100 women at a time.
