If you're a motorcycle rider, fan of the American Chopper television show, or just want to check out some sweet chopper bikes, Nashville is the place to be October 6th through the 8th. The cast of the Discovery Channel's hit show "American Choppers" will be in the Music City on a rare four city tour.
Mikey Teutul, one of the hosts of the show says the tour will be exciting for everyone.
"We build a bike on stage, and you basically get all the banter you get from the show from my father, my brother, and all the guys. You know things go wrong building a bike on stage like they do on the TV show and you know my father doesn't let anybody live it down," said Teutul Friday.
He says the team at Orange County Choppers puts a lot of time into each of the custom bikes it builds.
Mikey claims he too puts long, painstaking hours into all the choppers the team creates.
"Yeah, I basically put about zero into the bikes these days. I kinda’ come out to joke around with the guys at the lift. I get to just hang out and do nothing while these guys work. When it comes time to firing up the bike or unveiling it I get to be there and see the looks on people’s faces and it's really gratifying for the guys who worked on the bikes," said Mikey.
Mikey also says, off the set, his family isn't much different than they appear on the show. His dad, Paul Sr. is a little more toned down, but all in all they have fun on and off the set.
Todd Cline, Opryland Hotel's Manager and Vice President says when he heard about the event coming to Nashville he was excited about the opportunity.
"Orange County Choppers approached us. Because of the large fan base in Nashville and the drive market we jumped right on board,” says Cline. “It was the perfect partnership. We're known for great entertainment in Nashville; great entertainment at the hotel; the show is great entertainment."
Cline says the hotel will offer a standard package for guests at the hotel and a VIP package for the event.
