An Allen County man made a startling discovery while working on a farm over the weekend.
Boss Weaver was bull-dozing in the Hiley Spencer Rd. area Saturday when he uncovered human bones. Weaver contacted authorities who called Dr. Emily Craig with the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office to take a look.
KSP Sgt. Kevin Pickett stated, “On determination, after an extensive investigation, it was determined that it was probably an old grave and due to the initial investigation Dr. Craig felt they were very old and had been there for sometime.”
Allen County Coroner, Mike Wimpee says this sort of discovery isn’t all that uncommon in Allen County where there are many Indian burial sites.
Wimpee says after the examination the bones will be reburied in the same place they were found.
