Vicki Harrison has lived in the same house on East 3rd Street in Russellville for three years, and says she loves everything about her neighborhood except for the waterlogged yard.
Harrison says her front and back yards have flooded 12 times in the last 16 months, and wants the city of Russellville to do something about the problem.
NewsCenter 13 talked with Flood Plain Coordinator Bill Pearson who says he is aware of the problem, one he sees repeated all over town. The issue for the city is a lack of funding. For instance, he estimates the cost of fixing the drainage problem in Harrison's yard could cost as much as $50,000.
Pearson says federal grant money allocated for drainage repairs has dried up in the past couple of years as the economy has slowed, but he says the city will continue to apply for new money in order to continue to address the problem.
