The search is on for two Hart County inmates who walked away from work detail. Police are on the look out for 32 year-old William Vanwinkle. Vanwinkle walked away while on duty for the county's waste management program Monday. It was one week ago when his friend, 42 year-old Timothy Hurt did the same thing.
Both inmates participate in the Class-C and D work release programs at the Hart County Jail. Nearly fifty inmates are enrolled in the program, which began in 1999. Inmates complete a variety of tasks including garbage collection, cemetery maintenance and work for several non-profit organizations.
If you have any information about the whereabouts of the two men, you're urged to call the Hart County Sheriff's Department at (270) 524-2341.
