A late-night fire claims the life of a Woodburn man.
Around 11 last night, fire crews responded to a blaze at 544 Old Zion Church Road.
Firefighters were told a person was believed to be in the home when the blaze broke out.
The 43-year-old occupant, Donald Ray Pool, was pronounced dead at 12-28 this morning by the Warren County Deputy Coroner.
Deputy State Fire Marshall, Charles Sparks, says the house's age may have accelerated the flames.
"The building itself is an older building. Lots of wood on the inside and it has a metal roof. Once the fire starts inside there's no way for it to vent. It can't burn through a shingle roof, so it stays trapped in the ceiling and the rafters in the attic", explained Sparks.
Sparks says the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
