The Civil Air Patrol has located the Eastern Kentucky crash site of a single-engine plane.
A patrol helicopter located the site Sunday afternoon. One person died in the crash, but was not immediately identified.
The plane was found in a remote area near the Virginia border, closest to the town of Dorton in Pike County.
The area is mountainous and heavily wooded. Weather hindered search efforts on Saturday, but the air patrol, local authorities and volunteers were able to search by foot and air today.
Searchers found the plane after getting close enough to hear a transmitter signal by satellite.
Authorities say they wouldn't have known that a plane went down if it hadn't been for a few people who heard it and reported it on Saturday.
This makes the third plane crash in the state in the past week.
