Weather warnings are out for all of Kentucky as frozen precipitation moves into the state.
The National Weather Service has issued an "ice storm warning" for Bowling Green and surrounding counties, which has many preparing for what could lie ahead.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is describing it as a round of "ugly weather" that's in the forecast for tomorrow.
Crews have been out treating roads while shoppers have been grabbing some last minute necessities before any potential severe weather hit.
"They're asking, 'Are you getting ready for it? Did you hear there's going to be an ice storm tonight? I just hope there's not going to be one," said one local grocery store cashier.
With a potential for snow and ice, local shoppers are stocking up.
"We're just getting ready just in case," assured Debra Gensheimer, a local shopper.
And while workers prepare the store for customers, road crews are making preps of their own.
"We're applying salt brine. It's a preventive measure to keep the snow from melting to the pavement," explained Paul Keith, superintendent with the KY Highway Dept.
Crews spent much of the afternoon treating I-65 and area highways, and are urging drivers to slow down if they have to be out on the roads later tonight and tomorrow.
"Speed usually causes more problems. I know people's got to go, but speed is a big factor in accidents," Keith said.
Accidents shoppers will try to avoid.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the ice potential alone is likely to create hazardous driving conditions for tomorrow and Wednesday.
