Kentucky State Police say two bodies were found in an Ohio County strip mine, and the aunt of two Ohio County missing women is confirming that these are her nieces.

Ashley Gilmore, 23, and her 20-year-old half sister Holly Harrison went missing last Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006.

Kentucky State police out of Henderson say two bodies were found Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at 5:02 p.m.

They say the bodies were found in a Buick off a dirt road off of Kentucky 69 in a strip mine pit close to where the girls disappeared.

The women were last seen in a Buick Skylark going to a gas station to get cigarettes. Gas station workers told WBKO the two women never showed up there.

According to KSP Lieutenant Pat Isbill, the cause of death has yet to be determined and foul play hasn't been ruled out.

Autopsies are scheduled to be performed on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006.
