For many going away to summer camp brings to mind thoughts of fun and excitement, or does it? Two brothers from Franklin spent last week at the Sheriff's Ranch Camp for Boys and Girls in Gilbertsville. Phillip and William Stewart say this was their second year at the camp, but this time was an awful experience. William says the first night at camp he broke his wrist and finger playing football. He says when he asked to call home because his arm hurt the camp director told him only in emergencies.
Camp directors say they've never had any complaints and insist the children always receive more than enough medical attention. Camp directors also say William was participating in activities and that he received first aid treatment three times. They also claim they never felt it was necessary to take William to a doctor.
William's mother filed a complaint with the Simpson County Sheriff's Department and plans to take legal action soon.
