The NOMADS service group is holding their annual convention at Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green this week. NOMADS is an association of over 1200 volunteers associated with the Methodist Church. Since 1989 the group has been traveling the country in a caravan of RV's providing free labor for nonprofit groups in three-week increments.
Around 340 group members are gathering to compare notes, swap stories, and attend workshops on topics like building techniques.
The group has performed over 100,000 hours of free labor over the winter and spring months, with an estimated value of over $1 million dollars in nonprofit work.
If you would like more information on the group, you can contact them by calling, or through their Web site.
