Russellville Shooting Incident

Police identify a man who was fatally wounded in a shooting, after he was trying to rob another man in Russellville.

Russellville police say at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, an altercation occurred at 20-year-old Roy Jiwan Majors' home on East Third Street in Russellville.

Majors and 47-year-old Clarence Mark Mallory exchanged gunfire and Mallory fled the scene he was found dead just down the street from the incident. The investigation has revealed that Mallory was trying to rob, Majors' home.

Majors received treatment at Logan Memorial Hospital for a gunshot wound in the arm.
He is now lodged in the Logan County Detention Center. Cocaine and marijuana were found in Majors' home and two pistols were recovered by police.

He was later charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Majors may face other charges in relation to the shooting. The incident is still under investigation.
