Kentucky is getting an "F" on a national report card for college affordability.
The report says families are being forced to use large portions of their income to pay for higher education.
The report card from The National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education also says the state is sending more students into higher education.
There are 42 other states that received a flunking grade in affordability.
State officials still say college is relatively affordable for Kentucky residents with financial aid.
