The school district recently applied for a federal grant, but 10-percent of what they received had to be matched by a local contributor.

The superintendent, Darrell Cassady, prepared a proposal for the Reynolds' Foundation, which donates money to worthy causes.

The Foundation granted the district $150,000.

That money and the grant money will be used to add on to Edmonson County High, and enhance the county's new service center.
