Pet Overpopulation Problem

According to the U.S. Humane Society each year up to eight million cats and dogs are abandoned at animal shelters and only half of them are adopted.

The story isn't much different here in South Central Kentucky. When the weather is warm more dogs and cats are outside, causing pet overpopulation problems. The Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society has almost twice the amount of animals being dropped off at the shelter this summer.

Lori Hare, director of the shelter, says getting your pet spayed or neutered is the only way to control the pet population.
