A Horse Cave woman is sent to the hospital after a weekend head-on crash in Larue County.

The Courier-Journal reports 31-year-old Laura Stinson of Horse Cave, was hit head-on Saturday night.

State police say a 1998 Chevy Lumina, driven by 32-year-old Jennifer Nichols, of Hodgenville, dropped off the shoulder of the road, overcorrected and crossed the center line, hitting Stinson's camaro.

Both drivers had to be extricated from their cars by fire officials.

Nichols and Stinson were taken to the University Hospital in Louisville for their injuries.

A nursing supervisor did not know their conditions earlier today.

The Courier-Journal reports state police charged Nichols with driving under the influence.
