Bowling Green attorney, Kelly Thompson, is running against Warren Circuit Court Judge, John Minton, for the Second District, Second Division, of the Kentucky Court of Appeals. Thompson is suing WUHU-FM and WBGN-AM for refusing to air his radio campaign ads. He's also seeking a restraining order to force the stations to air his ads.
Mike Thompson, the manager of the radio stations, cites an FCC statute which appears to say broadcast stations are only required to air ads for candidates for federal elective office, and are not required to air ads for state or local candidates.
The case goes to court Monday, Oct. 20.
