After several serious accidents state lawmakers are hoping to straighten out one of South Central Kentucky's deadliest roads. Gold City Road is home to six deaths in the past three and half years. Five of those deaths occurred two weeks ago when a father, three of his children and a friend died, while speeding over a hill.
After the accident neighbors blamed the dangerous and curvy road for the death. State lawmakers plan to ask for more money to straighten the road out or enforce the speed limit, but with a tight state budget, the transportation department says it may be difficult to the fund the project at this point.
