Child Endangered During Warren County Pursuit

A three year old child is now safe after a Warren County pursuit comes to an end.

Kentucky State Police said 31-year-old Donnie Phelps of Bowling Green,Ky., is charged with fleeing and evading first degree wanton endangerment and criminal mischief and first degree and theft by failure to make a required disposition.

The Kentucky State Police said Phelps was being sought after for theft charges originally before the pursuit happened at 12:45 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2006. Police said during the pursuit the driver, 22-year old Brandy Lockhart, accelerated to speeds of 70 miles per hour. During the pursuit Phelps bailed out of the moving car carrying a three year old child. Both suspects were taken into custody shortly afterward. The child was released to a grandmother at the scene. Phelps and Lockhart are currently lodged in the Warren County Jail.
