The special prosecutor in the case against Glasgow’s mayor files a motion to drop the charges against him. Commonwealth Attorney Clay Hundley announced this morning that he’s seeking to have the indictment against Darrell Pickett dismissed.
Pickett is Glasgow’s former Police Chief. Earlier this year he was indicted along with Carol Sue “Susie” Pollock and Lorene Lee Hoffman, in connection with a payroll scheme. Pollock is the city’s former treasurer and is accused of altering Hoffman’s time sheets.
Hoffman is Pollock’s sister and was a civilian employee of the Glasgow Police Department. Hundley says the two women were crucial witnesses in Pickett’s trial and they have refused to testify.
Right now, Pickett’s trial is scheduled for next Wednesday. A hearing on this motion to dismiss is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
