A south central Kentucky family lost their bar-b-que business to a fire this afternoon.

For 32 years, Frances Bar-B-Que in Tompkinsville has successfully served the public.

This afternoon, the Monroe County Fire Department responded to the fire, but due to the building's construction, had to let the roof fall in before attempting to put the fire out.

The Monroe County Fire Chief says the community will definitely miss this popular lunch spot.

The restaurant's owner says he believes the fire began in the back of the building, near the exhaust ducts.
