A local neighborhood will begin to see changes very soon to the roadways they travel on daily.
Thanks to the Department of Intergovernmental Programs the Northern Heights Parker-Bennett Curry neighborhood will be receiving new roadways.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary Bill Nighbert said, “We want to do something to try and help cities catch up because they didn’t have the money coming into them from the road aid.”
The city of Bowling Green will rubblize the existing concrete pavement into a base for an asphalt surface.
Resident, Geraldine Banks said, “It’s going to make driving easier, we transport a lot of kids to the school on school buses so it will absolutely help driving, but it will spruce up the neighborhood also which it really badly needs.”
