Plane Crash Survivor Released from Hospital

James Polehinke, the co-pilot of flight 5191 that crashed killing 49 people, has left the hospital to begin weeks of rehab. Officials at University of Kentucky Hospital said he was released around midday Oct. 3, 2006.

Polehinke's mother said that she thinks it's too soon for her son to be released, but he was eager to get out of the hospital. Polehinke was pulled from the wreckage by a Lexington police officer.

Since the Aug. 27, 2006, crash Polehinke has undergone several surgeries and has had his leg amputated. Federal investigators said Polehinke was piloting the plane when it attempted to take-off from a runway that was too short.
