Louisville may be going smoke free, but not without a few exemptions.
A smoking ban proposal in Louisville was amended yesterday to exempt businesses with ventilated smoking rooms from the ban. The Louisville Metro Council committee also exempted Churchill Downs.
After the ban goes into effect, businesses will have 90 days to install smoking rooms and bars will have a year. Businesses included in this smoking ban are bars, restaurants, and other buildings, but private clubs and a few other businesses are not included.
