FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Unemployment rates are continuing to rise statewide.

The Kentucky Office of Employment and Training spokeswoman Kim Brannock says joblessness in nine counties in March reached 15 percent or higher and 10 percent or higher in 88 counties.

Menifee County remained at the top of the list of hardest hit counties with an unemployment rate of 18.1 percent followed by Bath County at 17.7 percent.

Fayette County had the lowest jobless rate at 7.4 percent, followed by Woodford County at 7.7 percent.

Brannock said the rates don't include unemployed Kentuckians who haven't looked for work within the past four weeks.
