The Sheriff's Department in Simpson County is turning to the public to help stop the meth problem. Monday, around 40 people from the community attended Simpson County's first meth safety and awareness program.

Police officers spoke about everything from the history of meth to ways on how to identify meth in your neighborhood. One of the classes included a decontamination demonstration where officers showed how hazardous materials are removed once a person leaves a meth lab.

Officers say people attending the class will be more aware of the dangers of meth.
