Bowling Green Parks and Rec is expanding! The city of Bowling Green hosted a ground breaking ceremony for the Bowling Green Parks Community Center this morning.
Parks Director Ernie Gouvas said the expansion will be important to the quality of life in Bowling Green, Ky. On any given weekend Gouvas said Parks and Rec brings in more 3,000 visitors. Gouvas said providing more space for visitors will help with the goal of getting more people downtown.
“When we came to this building we had 68 people playing games, now its 216,” Gouvas stated.
The annual number of visits to the park has spiked from 110 visits to almost 270,000 visits a year. The expansion will be located at 333 College Street next to the existing Parks and Rec Community Center.
