Although Bowling Green has typically been known as the 'Vette city that title may be changing with the caddy moving in, Tuesday and Wednesday, the Corvette Plant started assembling the first 100 Cadillac XLR's.

The sporty, luxurious roadster will be sent to car dealerships in late September. For more than twenty years the plant has been the only one to manufacture the Corvette, but after many years of planning, they will now be building another select automobile. The X.L.R. has a retractable hardtop, keyless entry and seats that heat up in the winter and cool off in the summer.

The car's starting selling price is $76,000.
