Thanks to the items many of you sent in to the Support Group, local volunteers were able to fill enough Care Cans on Oct. 21, 2006, to send many area soldiers.
"We have movies, we have games, we have stress balls, we have note cards, we have personal hygiene items and all kinds of goodies going in these cans," said Family Support Group member Debbie Robinson.
"When we thought for one moment we wouldn't have enough of something we'd get another telephone call and that telephone call absolutely brought tears to our eyes," said Family Support Group member Debbie Vinson.
The group will send the care packages out by the end of the month so that they will make it to Iraq in time for the holiday.
As for the group of soldiers that recently left the area to deploy to Iraq, they have officially reached their designated areas.
