The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, or SKYPAC, takes another step forward as it names its new leader.
The board has decided to offer the position of project director to Mary E. Carpenter (not pictured).
Jack Sheidler, the chairman of the selection committee, says the board received around two dozen resumes.
Out of those applications it interviewed two candidates that it felt were qualified.
Sheidler says Carpenter is a former member of the SKYPAC board and possesses the qualities it's looking for in a project director.
"She has an appreciation for the arts. She has experience in marketing, running a marketing firm actually," said Sheidler.
One of Carpenter's primary jobs will be to spearhead fundraising efforts.
The Bowling Green City Commission has said it must see progress in that area before it will fulfill it's commitment to purchase the land for the center.
