A Clinton County man makes a plea deal on charges he killed his parents.
Jonathan Burchett has pled guilty to two counts of murder. Burchett was charged in connection with the shooting death of Ronnie and Charlonia Burchett. The two were found dead in their home near the Wayne County-Clinton County line on Aug. 30, 2004.
Burchett was also charged with two counts of robbery first degree. Under the plea agreement, the two robbery charges were consolidated into one count.
The Commonwealth Attorney’s office recommended Burchett receive a 20 year sentence for the robbery charge. On the murder charges, Burchett would receive either the sentence of life without the possibility of parole for 25 years or life without the possibility of parole.
According to the plea agreement the court will decide next month.
