More than 800 Elkton, Ky., homes and businesses are hoping gas service is restored soon. Officials with Atmos Energy said gas service was interrupted about 6:30 a.m. this morning when water got into the gas line.
Service was shut off to Elkton’s 800 customers while crews began the restoration process. Once the gas lines are in working order, crews will restore service to critical care customers first, followed by each home and business.
Atmos Energy personnel will be knocking on doors to gain access to customers’ gas appliances for relighting.
