Just in time for the busiest travel day on the roads and the holidays, you will now be able to save that spare change stuck in the seats of your car.
The tolls on the William Natcher and Audubon Parkway are set to shut down Wednesday.
The shutting down of the toll roads was supposed to take place in mid-2007 but Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Transportation Cabinet decided to put those plans on the fast track.
The toll booths were originally set up back in the 70’s to pay for the parkways by the state. The Transportation Department says the debt on the roads is clear so the tolls can be removed.
Governor Fletcher and Transportation Secretary Bill Nighbert will be in South central Kentucky tomorrow to officially announce the removal again.
