Governor Fletcher has granted partial pardons to a woman convicted of murder and two others, convicted of manslaughter.
Tracie English, Mary Ann Long and Sherry Pollard were among 11 women whose cases Fletcher asked the Kentucky Commission on Women to review in 2005.
The Commission recommended partial pardons for the three women, which will restore their rights to vote and to run for office. Fletcher’s lawyer, Jim Deckard said they are difficult issues but it seemed clear to honor the work of the Commission.
Fletcher has restored the voting rights to 841 convicted felons over the past three years.
