SOUTHGATE, Ky. (AP) -- A marker commemorating the members of Congress buried in a northern Kentucky cemetery has been approved and will be placed at its entrance. But organizers must still raise money for the project.

The marker at Evergreen Cemetery would be visible from U.S. 27 in Campbell County. Cemetery Director Bob Briedenbach suggested the marker, which will include Brent Spence, namesake of the Brent Spence Bridge; John Wooleston Tibbatts, who championed Texas statehood; and Thomas Lauren Jones, a Newport lawyer who once challenged an opponent to a duel.

Money still needs to be raised for the marker.

A group of Campbell County Democratic Party leaders is attempting to raise $2,400 to pay for it.
