The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has announced a scholarship in the honor of an area businessman killed in a tragic accident.
The Chamber will award a $500 scholarship to a non-traditional female undergraduate attending Western Kentucky University, through the Cornelius Martin Athena Scholarship fund.
The fund has been established within the College Heights Foundation and funded by local Athena participants, in memory of prominent Bowling Green Businessman Cornelius Martin.
A student will be selected to receive the $500 scholarship for the 2007-2008 school year.
The deadline for applying is Feb. 1, 2007, for beginning freshman and no later than May 30, 2007, for returning students.
