Correction, their main purpose is to ensure riduclous laws on honest people to take away their rights as farmers and pet owners.

Well, kitty, the Humane Society's purpose for existence is to promote and ensure the proper care and treatment of animals. How does being behind on your cats vaccinations show you are capable of providing proper care and treatment of another aninal?

I do agree with Donald. They do do all they can as far as picking up and taking in all the animals they possibly can...in Warren county...However, I support the HUmane Society in there intake and with their care but I think they really need to re-think on the qualifications for adoptee's. I also agree with "annoyed" comment. I think you should have to have up to date vet reference if you already have animals. This only halfway assures that you will be a responsible pet owner. It just gives them some security.

Thank goodness for the Humane Society. I can remember when there were stray dogs and cats everywhere. Those alive were in poor condition and many were dead. I support the Humane Society.

I agree, they do make it impossible to adopt. I tried to adopt a calico "adult" cat from them with vet refrences but they REFUSED my adoption because I had a male beagle outside in a kennel that was not neutered. This cat was an "URGENT" status that would have been an inside cat. I don't understand the BGWC Humane society and SOME of there reasoning for "non-adoption qualifications" if it is so URGENT. I hope this cat wasn't put down because of their pickyness. I have donated time and time agian for supplies that they ask for and I was looked upon as unfit to house a desperate cat because of an intact male beagle.

First off its WELL not WILL… and its not impossible to adopt from the shelter. They have to set up some kind of filter to try and decided which applicants are going to be good homes for their animals and which ones aren’t. One way they do that is looking at your vet records and seeing if you keep all your animals up to date on all their shots. It is very important to have all of your animals up to date before you bring a new animal into the equation; otherwise your animals are at a higher risk of getting sick. So really it’s your fault because you couldn’t just go to the vet and update your cats and then you would have been able to adopt. There is more to taking care of an animal than just loving them.

WILL I TRIED TO ADOPTED A CAT OR KITTEN ABOUT A MONTH AGO.AND THEY WOULD NOT LET ME BECAUSE,MY CATS WERE BEHIND ON THERE SHOTS (2 MONTHS)I TRY TO WAIT UNTIL I GET TAXES BACK.WILL ALL MY ANIMALS ARE FIXED.AND I TRY TO TAKE CARE OF THEM THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE.SO I THINK IT IS THERE ON FAULT IF THEY HAVE TO MANY ANIMALS.THEY MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO ADOPTED.
