Bluegrass Airport files a response to a lawsuit that blames them for a crash that killed 49 people.
The airport’s response was filed yesterday and contends the crash was caused by negligent and wrongful conduct of Comair and its flight crew.
The Urban County Airport Board in Lexington also says that the airport is safe and that the flight crew made a series of errors that led up to the event.
Comair has sued the airport and the federal government, but the airport claims that it has sovereign immunity, which prohibits lawsuits against government entities in many instances.
