RUSSELL SPRINGS, Ky. (AP) -- State police say a south-central Kentucky boy is dead after apparently drowning in a neighbor's swimming pool.

Police say the 4-year-old child was found unresponsive Sunday night in a pool in Russell County in south-central Kentucky.

Police say the boy had been playing with other children in the area. When his father noticed the child wasn't with the group any longer, he and others began searching for the boy.

Police are continuing to investigate.
