LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Strong winds ripped through southeastern Kentucky, but most damage appears to be limited to downed trees and power outages.

The National Weather Service said the hardest hit areas by the storms Tuesday night were in McCreary and Whitley County, where as many as 21 roads have been closed due to downed trees and powerlines.

According to the Maysville Ledger Independent, the weather service reported that a possible tornado touched down in Lewis County near Tollesboro with reports of some property damage.

The newspaper said two mobile homes were knocked off their foundations and there was roof damage to at least one structure.

Floyd and Pike counties remained under flash flood warnings on Wednesday morning.
